Privacy

The short version: VideoCat has no accounts, no analytics, no cookies and no telemetry. The app runs entirely on your computer, and this website does not track you.

What the app collects

Nothing. VideoCat is a desktop application that runs on your machine. It has no sign-in, no user account, and no mechanism for sending your activity to us. Specifically:

• Your download history, library contents and settings stay in a local folder on your computer. They are never uploaded.
• The links you paste are sent only to the site you are downloading from, exactly as your browser would send them.
• There is no crash reporter, usage counter, feature-flag service or A/B test.

When VideoCat checks for a new version, it requests a small file listing the latest release number. That request carries your IP address and the app version, the same as any file download. We do not log it against an identity, because there is no identity to log it against. You can turn update checks off in Settings.

What this website collects

This site serves static files. It sets no cookies, embeds no analytics script, loads no advertising or social widgets, and hosts its own fonts rather than pulling them from a third-party CDN. Your hosting provider keeps standard server access logs, as every web server does.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share data only where we are legally compelled to, and only what is actually required.

Your rights

Because we hold almost nothing, most data requests are short conversations. If you think we hold anything of yours and want a copy of it or want it deleted, email support@videocat.io and we will handle it.

Children

VideoCat is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the updated date below changes and the change is noted in the app’s release notes.
